Podcasting with WordPress
Wordpress is great for distributing podcasts and video. Learn how to set up a hosted Wordpress blog, install Wordpress on a server and upload and publish your audio file to create a podcast.
Songbird

Songbird will help you manage your music files and subscribe to podcasts. Its' functionality is similar to iTunes so you can create playlists. Songbird is the only media player which works with the Firefox web
browser so you can use it to surf the web and find audio files to download.

VLC is a audio/video player that will read almost any format you throw at it, including DVDs and VCDs. It can be used to rip CDs and DVDs, encode video and connect to audio and video streams, and that's just the half of it.

Audacity

Audacity is a free, easy-to-use audio editor and recorder. Audacity allows you to open audio files from a digital recorder or import them from CDs. It allows you to cut, copy, paste and edit audio along a timeline. You can add multiple tracks and a range of effects like normalize volume levels across a selection or an entire file, fade regions of the file in or out, pan the sound from left to right and much more. If you want to get into making audio pieces for podcasting or radio Audacity is a great place to start.
